Well the difference between friendship and lover is on one hand theirs a line drawn and things stay platonic, with friends you tend be able to just hang out easier and able to talk with about things you may not be able to with a lover while with a lover the line is elsewhere if at all and the relationship is built off mutual trust and such, it's not just kissing and the like but a type of closeness you don't quite get with friends, if ya get what I'm saying
