I must emphasize again that Mai is much easier to swallow when she's actively doing things for her friends. She's an Absolute Disaster otherwise. Personally....I don't think she can handle a one on one romantic relationship. She gets carried away too easily and forgets boundaries so she'd need someone to be he Brake. Otherwise we see again how down bad Renako is for Sena. Lol She saw Mai as a Rival for Sena, which is super ironic given the actual situation.

For some reason, it doesn't feel like a story of a runaway anymore. There's the safety net that's Mai at every turn so they don't need to worry about most stuff anymore. The uncertainty of being far away from everybody they could rely on is gone. It would've been great if there was more done with the idea.

And now we're back to the same old messy love hecatonicosahedroid.

Am I crazy? Or is this story a revolving door of being really interesting and really fucking boring

there's a lot of potential and a lot of good things this manga has going for it, but it feels like it's held back by the ever-looming threats of:

1. Mai's money as a deus ex machina
2. Renako's constant and incessant self doubt, like I get why she's insecure but cmon, we don't need to be reminded of the fact every two minutes
3. Some weird, inexplicable tension that hangs over every character, almost feels like it's just a device to drag the story along

Damn, Hanatori must have thought that Renako is really a dirty insect, to the point that...

She feels the need to clean the insect herself
