End art looks like a gender flipped Hayate, which may already have happened considering the mayhem of that series. Never actually finished it. Think I got through the Greek island arc, but not sure. The lack of the student council president had my interest waning.
I always find the pacing of this series interesting, as nothing seems to happen, but the story keeps moving. Like a barely slower Bard Leon. Wish all those "slow life" comics learned something.
as people said, the child shown in ch 15 is related to the Empire's royal family. Not even a spoiler, just all but textually stated in ch 15, since we are shown the baby, a story about a woman hiding said baby, baby surviving.
And now we see an Empire soldier asking around a kid with dark eyes, hair and skin, something unsual on those parts - WN at this point had already made a point in telling us that everywhere we've seen so far is the north of the continent, with the Empire being in another place and somewhere south there are dark elves defending their land from Destroyer's invasions - in manga we only have the guy saying it was a good luck charm seeing a dark elf. In WN we learn why: seeing one means you won't die to a Ruin Destroyer, at least at that moment.
Aside from that, WN also has this to say about the baby (Yuri):
Yuri is a reencarnated japanese person, like Haruka. Yuri was a teenage girl who had a poor shitty life - emotionally and physically abused by her stepdad etc, we have like 2 chapters when the baby is introduced with her pov - and after hearing Haruka's name for the first time, she makes the connection that she, too, is a former Japanese. Only to conclude that their past is not as important as their future are mother and son. Yuri eventually learns the same body reinforcement that Haruka and the others use, gets proficient at it and at magic, at least to the point he can follow Haruka around now. Yuri doesn't perma-reinforce his body tho - doing that is both basically impossible for normal people - but training that makes Yuri to look older than he is. In WN's fan translation, he doesn't speak often and still has a lisp, but is physically capable enough to run, fight a bit etc.
I'm following WN fan translation and at this point, those are the only pieces of information we have on The Baby /metroid-Other-M
