When Noct had talked about teaching Haruka healing magic, I had thought there wouldn't be anything to teach her; since she's so powerful. And she would learn stuff outside of healing only. So I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued by the idea of healing a bone to be stronger and more resistant to future breaks; but at the cost of extreme pain.

Which led to introduction of the lack of addiction free drugs and lack of magic to dull or hide pain. Either of which could be used in combat, as well as healing. Let's say Haruka is fighting a really skilled physical fighter, and she's not able to land any serious damage. But, lets say she develops a spell that masks pain completely, or severely reduces it. After casting int on her opponent, she could then go for a "death by a thousand cuts" strategy, where she would keep adding on small amounts of injuries. With a pain masking spell, her opponent would incorrectly believe that they are in better fighting shape, allowing her to continue pilling on accumulated damage.

I'm glad Noct is teaching her to control her power. Not having to worry about accidentally injuring your friends with a back slap, is good for Haruka. Good for combat, and it'll probably help her relax more around other people.

The team is being really dumb with the way they discussed the black haired baby. None of them seemed to be concerned with someone listening in on their conversation. And sending a message to Cody, where the baby currently is, seems like the perfect way for other people to find out exactly where the baby is. A message by Dragon Post could be intercepted, and the letter read. Or the letter could be followed to where it's delivered. If they send a letter, they should have someone else send it, like Noct. They should also write the letter in code and metaphor, in case it's intercepted.

I'm happy to see the team has decided to go official. I like all of the characters personalities and they work well together. The author has been doing a good job of fleshing out their backstories and personalities. Part of me would have liked to have seen Haruka join that powerful veteran, all-girl team that wanted her to join them early on in the story. Just to increase the chances for yuri. But, even back then, I thought joining this team of more newer adventurers, and growing with them, was a better choice.

I like her/him for being kind, But being so kind and naive... is kinda make me a little irritated like, girl just be a little hard-headed person sometimes it won't hurt just once. But I do know She's/he's mature but still...
this is the big arc of this earlier part of the story, at least that's how WN reads to me. Haruka is learning how to live, and that includes dealing with the dark side of whatever situation she is dealing with, understanding that her being powerful isn't a free pass to do (or not do) whatever etc - a lesson so many of those stories that pose as "growing up stories" forget, btw.

All my favorite healers are psychopaths.

Noi - Dorohedoro
Usato - The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
Yuu - Maou-sama, Retry
Shupple - From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman
Nito - A NEET’s Guide to the Parallel World
It seems that the healer in isekai nowadays are combat medic, where they simply stitch back the wounds and let the internal wounds healed overtime. The old fantasy healers usually heals everything but that's already overused much. Also, healing by stitching back the wounds up use less mana/MP than full recovery. Also, there was anime or manga I don't remember what it was, explained full recovery healing too much will make the body unable to heal naturally. That's what I think of it. As for anesthetics, usually the apothecaries made them as they're well-versed with plants. I think for magic, usually they cast sleep instead.

Any medical board would easily pull a healer's license for this. Dear God....

Thanks for the scanlation, and please don't overwork yourself. We can wait for the next chapter.

Are you referring to the creep from Redo of Healer or Gregory House, M.D.?

More like completely ground down by the worst parts of society.

Though Haruka's a lot better now than at the start of the story, I mean, the completely worn-out old man would not have sought out a teacher or pulled the reverse-kabedon to get involved in a fight. There's still a long road to recovery ahead, but, baby steps.
Well I'm just saying What I feel right now, I'm not saying I hate her, this is just a thought that I want to say. Well sorry for this awkward reply.
