The feeling I had after seeing chapter 3, she seems to be getting hot on the feeling of being wanted. She really enjoys the knowledge that the MC is dedicating all his time and mind to win her, and think of nothing else. In that meaning, both her current boyfriend and the MC are playing different roles for her to fulfill her need.

It has a market to serve so the author won’t go there, but at this point, I think she will quickly move on if the MC really decide to completely give up on her, because his worth is to be someone who desire her so much he will dedicate himself to win her.
The MC is kept being motivated by the thought that she’s “having expectation for him”, he had chance, if he works hard, he will be rewarded.
Meanwhile, the current boyfriend probably is not even aware he’s being used as bait to corner the target. He’s probably lulled from getting fed the confirmation of “superior male because the female choose him over other male” by her..

Also, it seems to be going to use the cockblock strategy, where every episode tease about they’re going to do something horny, but then “something happened at bad timing to ruin the mood” hoping it will keep the readers on their seat waiting for when it will finally happen.
