I mean the fact that she didn't reach this conclusion by herself was stupid enough. Just save her and if she hates you, she will at least still be alive instead of fucking dead and you will have your chance to win her back. No kind of "her resolve to follow her destiny" is good enough to let someone die while you have the power to stop it. Let alone something as retarded as "noblesse oblige".

Rae lost her entire character just for a couple of chapters worth of pointless drama. Then gained it back. Just like when the rapist bitch showed up. She gave up then "found her resolve" that time as well.

Next chapter is not the end. The finalé is just getting started compared to LN2. I expect it'll be ending chapter 65, maybe?

Rae is emotionally damaged. She was bullied in her old life for being gay. Can you blame her for feeling hopeless after the most important person in the world to her left the way she did?

Rae never thought she had a real chance with Claire. As out of character as it might at first seem, Rae has only ever been trying to give Claire the life she wants. And if what she wants is to fall with the era of the nobility, Rae feels her hands are tied. I guess being reminded of her vow from chapter 51 yanked her out of her hopelessness, grounded her psychologically, and reminded her WHY she does what she does...

But you've got it all wrong. The manga's getting close to the end of book 2, but there's 3 more books and a sequel series (called Turn And Face Me by fans) is currently coming out.
