Motoki lost himself into work after Yuki death, he had little to no influence over Mashuu, that's why he thinks "he's the only one without a shadow" in the house. Meanwhile Mashuu grew up being independent, although grandma does the chores he supports the best he can.
Mashuu almost got sexually abused back then, could mention it to dad, but guilt now from back then wouldn't be that big. Guess from one predator to another... /jk
Ogata is such a conflicting character, she started out as "relationship support" due to reading and listening to podcast, but in the meantime completely did the opposite of what she once told to Rion back in elementary school.
She gave an advice about being more straightforward with what a person wants, instead giving dubious response, she knew Mashuu had feelings for someone else back when she also gave him relationship advice, but proceed to give only hints of her interests. Could save a whole lot issues if she confessed back during the christmas party.
But at least she is not just moving, but running forward... shame there wasn't anyone else to help with her broken heart but it's not her story...
