It's just classic otome isekai thing. Main girl, or villainess, spread lies about the other girl and because she is cute, beautiful, looks innocent, commoner, and always acts kind; people tend to believe them. It's actually good in that manga, the prince came and stopped the rumours. In other otome isekai stories, you may see the prince also believes these kind of lies.
