I think its more so the fact that the happier/more fun Hinako has, the closer she gets to having to fulfil the promise with Hinako and she doesnt want to do that anymore

Congrats on the anine adaptation!! I'm so excited for it, it looks great from the trailer!!

I think this is one of the first times we're really seeing the effect of the new promise on Shiori, she's mentioned it before but here we're explicitly watching Hinako have fun with other people for once while Shiori has to just watch her and grieve.

Also wow I like the design for the new monster! I wonder if school is suddenly empty since if there's students then there might be an arc of Shiori or even Miko getting publicly revealed as a monster in order to fight it? Maybe the lights out was something of an isolation from the outside world since Hinako mentions it's just the school that blacked out?

I'm surprised this is seemingly like the first time anyone's gone "hmm, you are best friends with one of the most extroverted people in school after all". No one questions why one of the most popular people at the school is best friends with the gloomiest, and I think that's nice. Hinako could make a bunch of friends if she got out there more.
