Well she’s immortal spending a couple hundred years underwater and breaking the chain is nothing
she's just human though so she'd just be in a constant state of drowning not able to do anything, and yes metal doesn't last forever but make it think or use a concrete filled box and you'd get probably a few thousand years out of it and just periodically come back and reinforce it, as a effective immortal you can easily build up funds to do something like this. It really is just a manufactured drama plot arc that makes very little sense and is probably just gonna drag on forever

Devour and diggest her. Works as "death-proof-proof" in about every setting, including traditional Japanese mythos about yokai. Quoting Dungeon Meshi, "shit doesn't revive"
There's a difference between reviving and being immortal here. Digestion is probably extremely risky for whoever is doing the eating. It's not that shit needs to revive, it's that all the tiny particles that your body is absorbing are still alive and regenerating. They'd essentially turn into your cancer until they destroy you by growing out of you.

"Just human" isn't exactly accurate when she has a yokai bodyguard strong enough to at least give Shiori some trouble.

Edit: also the idea of Shiori building up funds when she holds little interest in human society and even less on human money is stupid. Characters act based on their personalities and interests, maintaining an underwater concrete prison is not something Shiori is interested in burdening herself with.

m8, magical fantasy creatures work by magical fantay rules, and in those rules, "eaten and digested by a monstet = gone", not "regenerated back mixed into the eater's atoms like if you were part of Isaac Asimov's novelization of Fantastic Voyage" (which BTW is a book I highly reccomend, in which it's explicitly mentioned how that would happen with the miniaturized submarine's atoms even if digested by the antibodies - whih is a huge plot hole of the movie that Aimov's book takes pains to actually solve - no spoilers in how).

Unless she is actually poisonous (and we know mermaid flesh is not poisonous, so my money is on "no"), eating her would not kill you - let alone a yokai. If anything, it could give you mermaid inmortality. Which for fishgirl-chan is a no-issue anyways :-D
