I asked AI out of curiosity and this is who it said was the most likely culprit out of all the suspects:
Key facts:
- The victim could read minds.
- He was found dead in the snow wearing light clothing → exposure/hypothermia.
- Right before death, he was convincing himself it was suicide.
- The protagonist realizes that’s a lie → meaning someone manipulated his thoughts/emotions or situation so he’d die, but still believe it was his own choice.
So whoever did it had to:
- Bypass a mind reader, and
- Make him believe the death was self-inflicted,
- Without physically forcing him (since it looks like suicide).
Best Suspect: AO – Affection Inducement
Ao’s ability: Affection Inducement
That means Ao can make people feel love, attachment, emotional trust, or dependence.
This is huge because:
- A mind reader wouldn’t be suspicious of emotions that feel like their own.
- Ao could make the victim:
- Trust them completely
- Feel emotionally safe
- Feel comforted or resigned
- Then gently guide him into the cold under the idea of:
This perfectly matches:
Ao doesn’t need to override thoughts directly — just
tilt the emotional compass, and a mind reader becomes vulnerable to their
own altered feelings.

That said, I think the AI ignored another factor: Sensei could've been trying to protect the student that killed him by trying to convince himself that it was a suicide. But that makes it much more difficult and would I don't think it fits well with the setup so I think AI got it right here. What do you guys think?
