A bit off topic to the current chapter; however, for the longest time, I've been wondering if anyone else feels like this game makes no sense. Obviously, you can create your character and raid, so I thought it was like Monster Hunter, but now it has an actual named male protagonist with a bog-standard romance visual novel. And now it's trying to tackle politics and classism. It makes no sense, so when they create their character, does the game still treat them as though they're Yuuma? It said there's a female route, but we haven't seen the female protagonist yet. If Yuuma is the male one, I'm so confused how this game was so popular when it's clear as day it doesn't know what genre it wants to be.

You can play as custom character and Yuuma is still part of the story and as custom character you can also romance the heroines like Kaoru as an example. Yet the protagonist is oblivious to this obvious fact.
Also, both male and female routes are different with different events occurring, like Sera being the main villain in the female route and a heroine in the male route.
The whole story is a mess and Souta never played the female route, so there's a lot of stuff he doesn't know about.
i'm more surprised that this is supposed to be an MMORPG.

I REALLY hope we get a flashback about what happened after that fight... because for what I read in the other comments it wasn't the only thing skipped, and I hate it.
I really wonder who decided to change things so much, and why.

A pity that the mangaka and the writer are so limited.
The concept that no matter what the protagonist does, the ‘game’ rewards the heroes is interesting.

But the fact that as soon as they find out that they ‘won miraculously’ they start congratulating the heroine when they know perfectly well that they didn't contribute anything, ignoring not only the MC but also Kuga, is quite pathetic.

Let's not talk about bad rhythm lately,this was one of the best parts of the LN and it has butchered it.

Yeah as a game I'm confused because I assumed the school setting was just flavor text in the background about the world while the players are disconnected and have nothing to do with it and just hunt monsters or PK

No, this school has a 3 year course, each year is divided into 5 classes according to their level, A, B, C, D and E, so there are many students there.
The students change classes according to their performance in the 'games', I think every 4-6 months.

I don't think I implied any LN. spoilers,. This part is simply better written, both in pace and in the order of the conversations, but it's essentially the same story.

There is one detail about how the game-reality works: the protagonist of the game, despite having a perfect memory and being hyper-sociable, is unable to remember the name of our MC several times.
