When trying to find new series and using the advanced search or even recently added, it can be hard to remember/tell if you already bookmarked the series or gone through it.

My suggestion is to have Manga series's box be highlighted (or a highlight around the edge of the box) into different colors from being a dark grey (or light grey for Light theme users):

  • Reading / Re-reading = Orange
  • Dropped = Dark Red
  • On Hold = Brown
  • Plan to Read = Green
  • Completed = Blue
(You can also have options for users to customize the colors themselves)
(Should have an additional option to hide dropped series)

This will allow users to wade through the listings with more ease and the veteran manga readers can find more series to try out.

It would be nice to have, in the corner of manga that you've marked as reading, dropped, etc., a little indicator symbol to show that you have it in your library, and what status you gave it. So that way while looking over the updates, you can quickly pick out stuff in your library, or recognize things you've dropped so you know to just ignore them.

This feature is fairly doable. Whether and how it'll be feasible with the revamped MDLists which will come in an unknown time in the future is something the future us will have to think about. As for the moment, we can definitely maintain an updated list of titles the user has under reading/plan to read/etc. and show an indicator if the title shown is present in that list.

I spend most of my browsing time in the Latest Releases section.

I would like it if there could be a colored border around each title's box to indicate their reading status,so that I'd be able to just tell from a glance if I've looked at the title and set it to reading, on hold, or dropped without having to go to the page.

This would be especially when I'm browsing page 100 seeing if there was anything I missed before it's dropped from the list.
