you need to remember that kang lim hasn't had a hair cut in years due to his trauma. Can you imagine how messy his hair was?

Also Idk about girls, but as a guy i can confirm that getting a shorter hairstyle (and shaving) makes you looks tidier. Which greatly improves your overall appearance.
