This girl watched too much anime, i think.

Also, we got confirmation that the dress is the same as in the real world and not fantasy armour or something like that.

Identifying magic stone.
Yup, it's roughly a magic stone.

@HomeSlice
Author almost subverted a trope there. I at least hope he'll be against it in the future (sorta like a running gag), and it won't stick just like that.

So, basically Japanese language is stupid?

@HYBRID_BEING Most languages are stupid to be honest. English is like what, three languages in a trenchcoat?

But what im talking about is the trend from like a decade ago, adding -desu at the end of every sentence with the 'cutesy' type characters. Just felt annoying.

The honorifics are nice, at least. And it’s pun-heavy.

Really, all languages have ups and downs; at least until we have a galactic standard.

Some of the usage gets lost in translation. Occasionally, some of those suffixes can even give hints to native speakers on the character’s origin, ie hill billy, country bumpkin, posh, old fashioned, cutesy etc.

English has similar verbal tics too, such as: ‘like’, ‘you know’, ‘I mean’, ‘okay’, ‘so’, ‘actually’, ‘basically’, and ‘right’.

They’re just tools that an author can apply to readily emphasize a character’s quirks

“Three languages in a trench-coat” nice!

Like one of the henchmen from Seifer in Final Fantasy 8 who always ended sentences with "ya know?"?
