I'm feeling a bit curious about stuff in the site, so what is these two supposed to be?

I think I kinda get what is that, but I could be wrong.

What are badges? Also, I feel like I never seen that staff around in the comment section.. which makes me even more curious about the user. 😅

Search results indicate they are a rather recent addition.
Or.... a ninja. Monitoring the community from the shadows, and reporting the community status without anyone knowing they were ever watched (Bet that lizard has camouflage like a gecko)

Assuming my guess for what affiliates is for is correct, you might want to add a line or so from the original announcement to Path. You mentioned what sdbx has done to help, but, atm, Path's entry looks like it is just a service you use (like cloudflair).

He has been around pretty much since the beginning, but the few comments I found by him were largely in a reader/user context. Don't see much in staff context yet. But, ninjas be ninjas.
Edit: (your right, he is listed as staff from near the beginning as well... wonder what he does and on what platforms/media he does it on. )

Hah! But seriously what are badges?
When I click it on my profile, it seemingly does nothing.

Upcoming feature - the first badge will be the "supporter badge".

Other badges will be released for certain "achievements".

Notice the diamond next to the staff names in the profile? That's the supporter badge - indicating that you are a supporter. All supporters who have claimed their transactions will be able to switch the badge on in the coming days.

Affiliates are other sites related in some way to MD. (They have helped us or are currently helping us in some way)
