I had ups and down with konatsu but knew bros a good guy whos just broken inside and troubles with relationship so he isnt the best person to fix Akira.
But he still went through the shit and learn it by himself & gave the best option to akira. My respect grew for him.

Well, Yuuto knew Akira is "trash" in chapter 1 and so does he in chapter 2 so that's not a big revelation, just now he spoke it out openly not just internally and both seems to realize that.

Akira didn't have friends at all due her mother making her to "be like your father or ill beat your shit" so Yuuto proposal just might work but...

Yeah, mental health care, Akira needs it for fucks sake, that damage from mother just doesn't go away by being just friends.
Really hate when the subject is clearly brought up and doesn't get resolved properly at all in vast majority of stories involving that subject...

Looks like Shion keeping her in the dark about agreement between him and Akira took a toll on their relationship as figures, he should have told her about it beforehand...

To be honest, not sure "just a friend" will be enough, Akira has no family nor friends and can easily be manipulated if someone gave her a slightest moment of affection, not everyone is kind, there's plenty of pretty fucked up people around.

Akira was severely damaged by her batshit insane mother and bullying.
Realistically speaking, she would need an intensive professional psychological care along with someone who would constantly reassure it's a right thing to do and keep her self esteem up.

It's really rare in stories to depict a proper way to solve that kind of issues, I think the best was in "That's My Atypical Girl", but that character in the story had an actual ASD, while Akira is from an abuse.
