I was talking with someone in THAT shitty site the other day about random shit, when I mentioned about my mindset when people dislike you and what not, which is that you could (probably) never change what people negatively think about you, even if you change into a different person. They then said, "that's such a wrong view 💀", and that kinda pushed me to ask you guys about this weird emo topic.
also sorry if the choices sound weird i'm really illiterate

i guess it depends what they dislike me for? if they dislike a core part of my identity (i.e. being queer) then there's just literally nothing i can do and there's zero chance i will interact with them

if it's for, like, one of my interests? i just won't discuss it with them? and it's all good?

As a bizarre and contrarian person to even myself, I both prefer to be alone, and also wonder, hilariously enough, why it is that I've no one I really know beyond family.
That said, the few who I have been beside who did not like me... I don't know... I can't say I didn't care. It's simply that I was not there for them. So I'd have to settle for the second option.

“Not even Jesus pleased everyone”
I'm an atheist, yet this phrase makes sense

Some people will pick out some of your traits and criticize you for them. Sometimes, however, you can make amends, for example, with your significant other or a friend. However, sometimes the differences are too great, and it's better to let it go

I feel good answers have already been written here, so i'll instead share my thoughts about how liking/hating works.
First impressions matter psychologically. Once people hold positive or negative feeling of you, they look for things to reinforce that view. So if somebody dislikes you, they might dismiss or downplay the good things about you & vice versa. This skew is proportional to the strength of the feeling. IE looking at your crush through rose tinted glasses.

It’s “I have to perish immediately.” At first,,,, then it depends on if the reason is acceptable or not (meaning that it should make sense… no “because I don’t”)
If it isn’t, then it’s a “may you experience every kind of mental torture at a specific interval every day.”
If it is, then “I have to die right now.”
