\>female side character enters a country populated by people with dark skin
\>she immediately was nearly sexually assaulted by one of the locals
\>later, the two leads enter that same country
\>they’re immediately attacked by local bandits wearing “primitive” clothing

Is the author deliberately trying to be the colorism final boss? Like god damn, it just keeps getting worse

You are literally making a deal with the devil here, Kelly, so maybe it's better not to do it. Don't sell yourself to some trashy sadistic princess.
The author is really good at writing both the MCs and Kelly but really struggles to write everyone that, Heisha’s sister was toxic & traumatized, the president is a sociopath, letting her subordinates her assaulted & the princess is unhinged, callous and full of red flags…

lol, thank the Gays gods that this is a Chinese author and they are not like you, a hypocrite, cuz let me guess, if all of thous people that where portrayed as bad where white skinned, you won’t bloody complain about your “colorism”

it’s all find when the story is all white people and the villains are only white, also you do semn to ignore that we do have a positive portrait of dark skin so where in hell did you got the idea that the author is racist in any kind of way?

also, MAYBE the next chapter we got to be show the evil white people oppressing the dark skin tribal looking people and you get your “white people BAAAAD” fix

cuz clearly with what the story shown it’s not enough evil white people in this story plot lol

If the story does what is stereotypically done for people of color as a way to denigrate them, that is bad, actually.

That's also bad, but at the very least less bad, because you don't have representation that works into racist stereotypes. But no, what you really want is representation of people of color in every role, not just the stereotypical villains.

The point is not that there aren't enough evil white people, it's that people of colour can only be racist stereotypes. People of colour should be equally represented in any role, across media, and not just in these kinds of roles.

Turns out, it is racist when you write your black characters the same as racists write theirs, that that is the only way you can represent them.

Look, I don't know if this piece of media will represent it like that. The fact that the leader is presented romanticised, might mean that the writing is more sympathetic. But so far, it does not look great.

I still can't get over how much Diana and Jolene look alike. Is this just a coincidence, or intentional? Diana didn't give any reaction, as far as I remember, to the similarities, so maybe I'm just reaching. I do hope that's the case, the reaching part, kinda don't want there to be a twist where Jolene turns out to be related to royalty.
