When Your Birthday falls on a Weekday.

For those who have birthdays on a weekday how do you go about celebrating it? Do you celebrate it on the day of your birthday, or you celebrate your special day either before or after your birthday when you have the chance, or even make the week/month your birthday fall under a celebration?

I thought it would be a nice topic for discussion.

Me and my parents usually celebrate anyone in the family's birthday at the midnight of the date so it doesn't matter for us.

Also, my mom and my birthdays are both always on public holidays so that only leaves a 5/7 of all times for my dad to have his birthday on the weekdays.

We eat the cake for the next few days tho. Usually we have a slice each at midnight but that's it.

I don't even celebrate my birthday so I don't have that problem. It's just day like another one.
My friend once came to celebrate on my 20th birthday, together with his girlfriend (also acquaintance) which surprised me. And it was so awkward it's not even funny recalling it even now, years later.

But if you can count it as celebration i simply drink a bit more of alcohol than usual (from 1 beer to 2), and eat something that i usually don't. That's it.

EDIT: Typo

To be frank, I don't really like birthdays. But for my parents, it's a special day for them. They go out of their way just to celebrate it with me, and that's the only reason why it gets celebrated during weekdays.

@Drimson so it's not weird to not care about birthdays? Because I feel like everybody else treats their birthdays special.

Same here, except it was a close friend and my then girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend, which I really didn't want them to. I had a hunch that they would do it, but I couldn't just say that I didn't want it. I can still remember it (although I'm not very fond of that memory now) since she tried to make that day special for me. 😉

I generally celebrate on the weekend before or after the day, depends when i have the time to do so.
It may be cultural thing but as far as i know my region rarely celebrate birthday, we celebrate name-day instead.

"A name day is a tradition in some countries in Europe, Latin America, and Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox countries in general. It consists of celebrating a day of the year that is associated with one's given name. The celebration is similar to a birthday.
The custom originated with the Christian calendar of saints: believers named after a saint would celebrate that saint's feast day, or in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, the day of a saint's death. Name days have greater resonance in the Catholic and Orthodox parts of Europe. Protestant churches practice less veneration of saints. In many countries, however, name-day celebrations no longer have connection to explicitly Christian traditions."

You celebrate it identically to how you would birthday, we just celebrate it insead.

I know right? I always felt weird being the only one who didn't give half a crap about birthday. Heck, in time it even began to be annoying to listening to "my bithday is xx so let's blah blah blah".

Well TBH when you've become a social slugs, your acquaintances pity you; they'll need some excuse to invite you out, or see the sun in general.

Or there's a chance your friends and family actually appreciate you for being a part of their lives, and want to remind you of it.
