Why are dragons so hated in anime & manga?

Why in every single recent manga & anime series dragons' only purpose is to be slain?
Seriously - stop use a dragonslayer trope, why aren't dragons allowed to stay alive?
Why if dragons stay alive they become pets?
Why are dragons' dragon forms so hated by fans and writters that nobody even pays attention on them?

To be fair, it's like that in most stories everywhere. it's one of the oldest tropes in the book. Slay the Dragon, Save the Princess, yada-yada-yada.
At least stuff like Skyrim had us Slay a dragon with the help of a dragon while we're a Psuedo-Dragon.

Why are dragons being portrayed being weak?

Now that's one I don't have an answer for, I have no idea. I guess demon lords/villains still bare enough human semblance to be empathized with. Which isn't the answer either when some dragons can be empathized with too. It's just, usually in anime they're just beasts, meanwhile demons in anime are a bit more characterized.

Yes.

Which isn't the answer either when some dragons can be empathized with too.

Dragons don't have the same facial muscles that can show emotions like humanoids do, so it's harder for a wide audience to relate to. On top of that, it's harder to draw dragons so you're not going to find "cool, detailed" dragons that frequently appear in most manga.
