Yeah, it's bizarre! But to generalise "all japanese authors" is even more bizarre! Wth are you reading tho? Then again I do agree about sexual violence, when not really necessary, being used in too many instances just to show "evil"! Like ANY type of violence, murder, torture or rape, there must be a valid reason, a point the author wants to convey! Like Berserk! I just adore the manga, and that "one scene" remains with me, probably for my whole life! It's impactful and made my cry,rage, and fell sorry for Casca and Guts! I was never able to reread it, it scared me! But that was the point!
Ahhh! I'm really conflicted about the subject! I want authors to be free and autocensor themselves, and yet some scenes shouldn't be used nonchalantly!
