i dunno does this make sense to anyone else
my questions
do people revive?
what is that prince offering??
-he said that anyone who has a complaint about being paid too little he will pay them twice as much, that's him being merciful or something...
that doesn't quite make sense but i guess you can switch the phrasing I am "[going] easy on you" with i will be fair
-the awkward phrasing is just confusing
On payments for the dead mercenaries i don't quite get this at all either
were those mercenaries revived? there's a priestess and the whole payment to the dead makes no sense unless thats true
but if thats true why was the mountain of corpse used as imagery depicting the tragedy

I don't get the nobleman's son trope. Aren't they taught etiquette in most manga? How do they always turn out so spoiled and idiotic?

@Mizumachi i get that the payment was for compensation
that much is kinda self explanatory
but if the mercenaries are dead, why does it matter that the payment was revoked, they couldnt have gotten it anyways, they're dead
if its going to their family, why was it worded in such a way, y'know?
and if they were revived, the brief summary of the ongoing conflict between the mercenary and the Lord should have been depicted much differently
-we should have gotten the image of them being revived that way it can be established that there is a revive mechanic, if they didn't want to dump it in dialogue form
the grammar and spellings were off so im confused as to whether the story handled it poorly overall
or if translations were a tad bit off and things needed to be re-phrased and proofread to grant clarity

page 4 translations error "they cut the monster and sell the boyd parts" its supposed to be "body" right unless boyd is some actual thing from the monster?

it's a bit late, but to answer your question, since standing armies cost much, rulers usually had only a small one, in a war they recruited for once their own peasants and second mercenaries troops. those troops were usually organized mobile armies, often complete with a non-combattant part (horsemen, healer, prostitutes etc), their leader made a contract before with ruler about payment, and paid himself then his men and general costs, much like a businessmen. the payment was partly dependent on the number of fighters
so basically it's like you have assigned a company a task with a fixed payment dependent on the numbers of workers needed for it and some extra profit gained through the work (the monster parts) but after the work was done, you refuse to give the profits and not even pay the whole price since workers died along the way (AND they seemingly died partly cause of your shitty instructions...)
