The villains being some weird unspecific elder gods really doesn't help. So its always deus ex machina vs a devil ex machina. nothing truly interesting can come from that setting, since the villains can do esentially whatever, and the heroes always win by some random bulshit power.

tbf the moment she said to ke'er "defeat me to find out what happened to your master" I instantly knew she was going to be corrupted. I though it was going to be in that very chapter but it instead gave an outlet of training to become stronger. but I guess that outlet has been discarded now
