I hope the party members don't die for the MC's growth or something as cliched as that. If MC has to get stronger I hope he just parts ways with them peacefully

Plenty of isekai protagonists would have killed the attackers. Difference here is that he isn't a completely op edgelord about the ordeal.

@YerRob No, that's pretty realistic. That doesn't instantly kill, it crushes the larynx, collapses the trachea and the victim suffocates.

I wonder if these guys will remain as MC's shady buddies or will try to cross him at some point.

@LordFifthIsLife Definitely. Martial arts like Taekwondo, Judo, Karate, etc., can give you the foundation but you need all rounded training to be efficient as a fighter. For this era anyway.

I just love that "Your basic protagonist but not really" vibe this Manga gives. No edgy bullshit or smooth sailing shit as of now. MC is intelligent enough not to hold a monologue infront of a dying bandit, he just stones him to death, which hits him back a few hours later, holding that bloody money pouch. His mates were sceptical at first, but since he does his job, they accept him while still keeping eye on him. Stuff like thus is what makes this story special. MC doesn't get the "I have all the power, lol I dragons and aristocratic boobs I want" pipedream, but is forced to live among not-that-important people which have their own simple ambitions and lives. While not omnipotent, he's still badass enough to actually kill wolves or people barehanded, and most shockingly, he's actually capable of feeling remorse. A true Achilles among other isekai MCs.

Finally, a protagonist with the stones recognizing that killing those that try to kill you is necessary, and is not totally edgy about it.

I'm glad he didn't fall into the forgiving protagonist trap. Sometimes, especially in ye olden times, you have to take your own justice. Guards and knights were as capricious as any bandit or killer. Oftentimes worse.

Back then, a life truly was worth only so much. Mainly because they lived to, like, maybe 20 at best.

I like that he’s not a naive that will let someone like this go but I also get the feeling he’s not gonna go full psychopath Chinese mc

@mrmm >though the fighting's drawing feels "slow", the impact sure is something else, anyway thank you
thats because its in slow-motion. the author really draw it very detailed and anatomically accurate.
most REAL combat doesn't go for 8 episode like dragon balls, most only took few seconds for a fatal blow to hit and end the fight.
and the author really make those few seconds as logical as possible. some of the fight scene even looks as if its basically a medieval fighting technique book / script. if you google that, you'll know what I mean

@YerRob >Those thugs were pretty legit, one got the throat chop of the century and was still mostly fine
bruh he's having really long dying breath. its the opposite of "mostly fine". death is better for him than broken windpipe

I love that fight, running away and then fight back when they get too deep.

Just like moba game.
