It brings her closer to her "goal" of buying a magical stove. All the way back in Chapter 12 page 15, she realized she didn't have any local currency and that it isn't a cheap purchase. Plus, they're generally sold in larger more developed towns. So it's a goal that she's had to put off for quite a while.

And the beastmen entourage who gonna come to pick up the kids would be very surprised that Satsuki is a human, eh? Just like the human guards entourage surprised with the beastmen kids. I smell conflict is brewing and Satsuki gonna be trapped in the middle as a middlewoman.

To me, it seems it's implied that this isn't part of the Mountain Base proper (Chapter 19 page 26, she mentions that his telepathy works, even when her barrier is currently blocking him from entering). It's a clearing with a Cooking Spot that the Ancient Dragon made. If you look at Chapter 22 Page 29, you can see this isn't fenced in in any way, so this isn't the Withered Land Base that has the barrier around it. Which also explains why she had to place a Bath House for them.

I also assume that there isn't a barrier in this location, since she doesn't know their names to even grant them permission to enter. And at the end of the chapter, the wolf kids seem to be at a different spot.

Didn't she already? A few chapters back when Yuki and Haku gave her a horned rabbit and she dismantled it, she had the choice to discard certain parts for KP and sell others for GP.

Also, she has a giant black snake corpse, I'm guessing is worth more than a stove.
