There is no no way he'll be 2ml. Maybe he (still?) has a thing for akane BUT akane only sees yamada like they're so much in love it doesn't make sense. So my guess is he feels guilty and he'll see akane happy and then move on

I think people are sort of overlooking that this is also a SOL, so the story may seem like it's going nowhere / "stagnating", but it's exploring the daily lives of the characters... In this case it's about to show a little something about Akane's high school days. Just because there's a guy doesn't necessarily mean it's about to be a ML showdown or whatever... He likely is related to Akane's scar and might be guilty about it, hence that look on his face in the last panel.

Thank you for the update! Not sure on where this is going to go or how I feel about it. I reread this series like once a week. And I don't mind most of the drama but I feel like the possibility of adding in a 2nd person who loves akane would be fine as long as it's dealt with quickly and in a mature manner. Like don't go having her try to hide it from akito if the new character confesses to her. Especially considering how akane herself handled akitos friends in the recent past of the story, that would come off as real backwards character development for akane.

Yea I think it's most likely this new guy caused the scar on her leg but he also liked Akane so the new arc will revolve around that, but there's no way he'll be 2nd ML. At some point Yamada will probably go back with Akane to her parent's home. It may happen in the next arc.

I agree with this. I don’t feel like it’s that type of story, Akane wouldn’t be conflicted about Akito at all.

I've been wanting Akane to introduce Yamada to her family since the chapter where she went home after her mom collapsed. Like she's got this really great guy and her mom has been hinting that she wants to meet him. Why hasn't it happened?

Most smart take here. This is average ass-pull storytelling and forcing of drama. 95 chapters, the scar would've been noticed by now or the dude mentioned in some way. Still have hope that Akane's character won't also be changed to force the drama to even happen because as of right now it just wouldn't even be possible.

There also can not be a love triangle as he is a nobody that Akane purposefully cut out of her life. Going from the past (and this) chapters he should not even shake her in any way. Don't ruin this now, corporate greed.
