I guess there is no ethical education in Japan or tought how to be polite - why this girls, even younger then Yamada, cant mind their own business? This shit always in the manga - some random girls harassing someone they dont know, asking like "is she your girlfriend?!" - who give you the right to peek your nose in someone's life? Really, this shit makes me angry - in my country not even this shit rude and parents teach you from the diapers that its rude, but if you ask this kind of question, you've got "bitch who the fuck are you get lost" answer (or could be bitten up by girl even). And always, ALWAYS - MC girl is like so polite like "omg sorry girls no", even when they are few years younger, lol. Why do you even care about their opinion? Why not to just shut them up? Why characters always offer excuses when someone creeps out of business? 🤬

@Jmann I'm pretty sure you must differentiate between fiction and reality, fiction is not always an accurate representation of reality. It's made up for the sake of drama/comedy/tension etc, taking it seriously as if it's always realistic is naive. Also, actual Japanese people are fussy about ethics, you have to act certain ways on certain places if you want to blend in, you need to conform into their societal rules etc.

@Kuraiaku if it was once or twice - yep, no problem. but really - this crap in every single romance manga, EVERY SINGLE - so at this rate (for me) is seems not like some fiction for drama, it seems like some common (at least for 90%) thing that they used to (or at least it teaching girls/boys reading manga that its normal to harass someone - BUT ITS NOT NORMAL in my opinion). If it was like polite question like "hello, my name is, i'm his classmate/friend, nice to meet you, whats you relationships?" - i would get it, but now like this "HEY YOU ARE YOU HIS GIRLFRIEND" assault crap - if someone whom i see first time in my life asked me this that way i would say "get lost" or something like that. Really, this whole situation/character behaviour is so cliche that its pisses me off when i see it))))

@Jmann Yeah it's cliche, it's just author copy what other author did in the past. It's a storytelling tactics employed by many author but it's not a guarantee that it's realistic. Going by your logic that if a lot of authors writes the same scene then it must be real, then having super power is real too? Since well, a lot of stories tell us that people have super powers.

I get that you're pissed off by the cliche, indeed that it's a tiresome cliche, the author could've handled these kind if scenes differently. But don't judge the whole country you never visited just because of some pop culture.

Also, if you're tired of shoujo manga tropes, I think you should move on to seinen/josei romance which geared towards adults. If that still pissed you off, then go read another genre like fantasy, action etc.

@Jmann idk about you, but one time i showed up to work at the same time with my male colleague, and my manager kept asking us if we're dating. eventually it spread to the rest of the staff and everytime i chatted with that colleague, or even stood nearby him, people would ask if we're going out, so

it's kind of asian culture to be nosy about other people's love life tbh, it's also happened to me at school with teachers and classmates i've never spoken to asking about a guy i frequently chat with

it happens in real life. maybe you're just lucky?

You misunderstoob me a little. One thing if someone who you know asking YOU. Like your classmate come to you when you walking with friend and saying "Hi man", introducing himself to your friend, you introduce your friend to him etc. Its normal polite conversation. Whatever rumors will be after - doesnt matter.
And the other thing when you are walking with your friend and some random classmate that you now only "he is in my school" suddenly come to you and starting to harass your friend like "Omg lol who are you whatcha doing" - THIS IS RUDE. FOR THIS - i would ask this person to get lost myself not even waiting my friend to answer this nonsence.
Same here, in this (and lot of others) mangas - its like their really bunch of chickens - KO KO KO. I get what author tried to do there, but this is just looks idiotic, like all this girls were raised in a barn.
Try to picture not some situation like you describe, try to picture yourself in this manga situation. What is this school and this kids? They like gipsy's on the market wanting to rob you.
Anyway, this is just my opinion - i see this plot like "omg this guy is so shy but popular that all the girls want to eat his dick even they dont know him - so they gonna murder any new girl seeing him" so often that it makes me sick. Or - another one version - girl in the school make a pact not to date this guy so there was no need to kill each other over him but then new girl coming and they harrasing her - another one cliche. Maybe - maybe - this crap is really normal for japaneese schools (all asians crazy about their idols etc), but for european it looks like some Middle Ages and this girls like Inquizition.
