Yeah, I mean, yes, but it's naturally not perfectly analogous. Firstly, this manga is significantly less sexualized than all of those narratives are, and secondly, there's actually some valid introspection. (Which is less common in the beta male harems you mention. Those tend to descend into self-pitying monologue.) Additionally, it seems like there's character growth. But yeah, the art is nice. And kofuns are cool.

omg so I was actually the one translating on bato and I hate to admit but i was using google translate as well as deepl. The reason I stopped was because I actaully took 3 years of college JPL and omg the errors are bad. For example you didn't change when kanie said he was rock hard. He actually wasn't, he was impyling that the other dude he poked fun of sanwa was rocked hard cause of a pun he threw.

Ah omg thank you for reaching out! And thank you for translating the story initially!! I find Kansai dialect very difficult to interpret at times. It'd be great to have you back as a scanlator on the series if you'd like!
