It already isn't, he copied then put a spin on it using his own techniques. Enough so it confused the original user as they didn't understand what happened.

Doesn’t change the fact it was copied in a matter of seconds. It could just be my own personal opinion but isn’t magic supposed to be freedom? Why copy, steal, take, improve what someone has already. Create something entirely new something no one could possibly imagine.
