We might be nearing a breaking point with Chita--personally idc if she stays an effectively ace foodie, however sad that might be for Tokio, but it seems like she's nearing a precipice where she has to face the fact that if she wants to hold on to any vestige of the familiar (namely, Tokio) she has to accept the necessity of growth and change on her part.
well I don't believe they need to change her , because she seems very ace coded , but not aro , so she could gain insight on that a form a relationship with tokio on that front.

I don't understand the hate. Chita acts like most shounen protags that have someone of the opposite sex throwing themselves at them...they just ignore or don't acknowledge it. At least she's not doing the whole "I'm not worthy of affection." shtick.
You do have a point here, embarrassingly enough.
Feels like we readers are crap at understanding all the meta trolling/fun-poking the mangaka is doing throughout this manga.
Just consider how many times the mangaka set up a story point that most of these manga would draw out endlessly - just to then FIX the misunderstandings etc. in super short time. Liberating, and feels ever so good, but it also pokes fun at the crappy storytelling in many other manga.

I feel like those types of protagonists also get quite a bit of hate... Particularly if they have a tendency to harass others.

I don't believe she refuses to address , I believe she can't address because she can't really understand it.
I meant 'refuses to address' in the sense that she's refusing to grow up.
I don't really care if she starts a romance with Tokio; I think it's fine if she's ace or just not really interested in relationships and wants to pursue her content creator thing.

But she's also constantly upset that Anju and Toyoda are starting to move forward with their lives, and their respective partners, to the point that she's interfering with things like them getting studying time when they've got exams and longer-term goals they're pursuing. Because she wants the comfort of stasis and status quo, and is pushing back against any in-story event that threatens that.

That is what I mean by 'refusing to address', and I'm wondering if this sudden invitation to Tokio, and not her, is going to start the process of her having to reckon with the fact that no matter what she does, things are changing out from under her.

More than anything, a chita chapter is delaying Seto's graduation and his "graduation".

That's all good, but why would she need whole chapters dedicated to her non-development? She's doing her thing? Good on her. Still doing her thing? Still good on her. Why waste chapters on a non-story?
