Yup, and also the whole point of aero/ace/queer discourse is that people fall all along a complicated multidimensional space w.r.t. sexuality.

Could very well be that Chi's only considering a romantic relationship b/c it's Tokio - this is very much not uncommon, especially in Japanese media.
Yep pretty- it being Tokio in particular is a big factor imo
I assume you posted this before ever seeing my response of not engaging in Reddit gotcha debates over her sexuality.
Yeah I somehow skimmed over that part lol

And that's fair but imo you should be a bit more clear about that nor being something you wanna get into because your initial reply to them does kinda come off as deflection lmao
I guess I'm the only one enjoying this characters I mean I want to see what the others are up to but I'm ok with this and I guess it hurt a bit seeing people complaining about it
I mean I'd say I enjoy them enough that I don't hate this part or chita either

Like some seem to R E A L L Y fucking hate both and imo need to chill a bit lmao

I almost suspect he doesn't "believe" in those orientations and that's why he defaults to referring to any conversation surrounding them as "Reddit gotcha debates".
No point in engaging with someone like that seriously because you won't get anything worthwhile for your time.

I mean...yeah that's possible but I wouldn't blame him either wanting to dodge that kind of debate lol

Dunno, I could see myself liking her if she were involved in some very strong bit of storytelling. I just can't imagine anything that could be done with her aro ass that'd make for said storytelling, as of now. Maybe send her to a hospital? Make it terminal? She suddenly has no appetite because it's stomach cancer! This way Chita can at least be tragicomical, rather than just bland.
Okay, I think I have it. So, Chita has stomach cancer, but she's responding well to therapy, there's a chance she lives anyway. She's on chem, Tokio's constantly with her, and we get chapter upon chapter of suffering at the hospital.
Toyoda supports her brother, of course, and thus she feels she has no time or attention span for the relationship with Inuyama anymore. Inuyama flies into a depressive spiral, fails his art course, and hangs himself.
Toyoda's too busy with Tokio to pay attention, because Chita is not in fact getting better, despite the forecasts; but Seto is shocked by Inuyama's death and becomes a neet.
Anna fails her exams and doesn't make it into the beauty school, so just drifts aimlessly.
A year later Chita dies. Tokio, Toyoda and Anna (but not Seto, he's still locked up in his room) come together at her funeral and cry about their friend and their wasted youth.

Holy shit y'all hate Chita what the hell did she do to you
Mostly just her being a kinda shitty person. I personally found myself disliking her character when she tried to use her friends for the sake of getting views and making money on the internet, even trying to push things in suggestive or sexual directions for views.

Its a more severe than the boys though. Chita knows and rejects, while the boys were wishy-washy. Plus, I don't recall anyone praising Seto's personality much either. Inuyama was more accepted since his perversion antics were funny.
I dislike Seto at this point. His girlfriend has expressed her needs, he said he'd work on it, and he still constantly rejects her advances. I'd be less bothered if he just told her "I can't do that, sorry" as opposed to promising he'd work on it and then make zero progress. It's also kind of obvious what his career direction should be, but he seems more focused on self-pity. At least he's helping Anjou study.

Inuyama has been great because it's subtle, but he's respected what she initially said when they started dating. She said she is NOT comfortable with physical contact at all, and he's made it a point to not be a creep or invade her space. The two have resolved dramas quickly and treated each other with dignity and respect. Better protagonists than Seto and Anjou.

Look - I don’t dislike Chitta nearly as much as everyone else does, but…
I’m real goddamn tired of the focus being on her. Tokio I get - he’s a peach. Chitta just isn’t an interesting character to me and the “what is love” trope has never been done well.
To be fair, there are some good aroace mangas out there (I suspect that's the situation here)

Well, either this guarantees that we're going to get a 5th Chita chapter in a row or the author will pull one the cliffhanger switches like we did with Toyoda and Inuyama a while back and switch to the other couples for several chapters before circling back to this specific moment.

I like Chita and Tokio and that they're a different flavor than Anna/Seto or Inuyama/Toyo and I find them possibly the most relatable?
