I don't have any hate for Chita. I'm hoping that she gets some more growth as it's definitely apparent that she's afraid of after graduation. I knew people like that. Some turned out fine some unfortunately didn't. Thanks for the chapter!!!

She being who she was, sucks ass innit? My word I can’t really remember losing interest in stories over a character mate

People prefer them because they're not Chita, the most annoying character,
Dunno man, some of the comments seem to hate on her b/c she didn't immediately reciprocate Tokio's feelings but also didn't completely shut him down.

Which isn't great of her, but I think the story the author is trying to tell with her is that she legit just doesn't know what she's feeling or how to process them. I think the author is going in the direction where she's on the aro/ace-demi spectrum (with some fear of growing up thrown in) and Tokio is her person. Which soulmate-sexual is basically a sexuality as far as some Japanese/Korean romances are concerned.

I genuinely hated her once I noticed all she does is use the people around her for her own gain, including her own friends..the chapter she convinced the other 2 girls to dress up skimpy to "hangout" at the pool but then secretly recorded them for her YouTube shit was like Jack dorhety level scum bag behavior, she also used Tokio for her YouTube, his feelings for her aside it comes across that she only hangs out with him to use his boost to her channel. She's manipulative, gross and selfish.

Since we've all said enough about Chi, I'll bring up something else.
Look at our boy Seto snapping back at the idiot class rep (?) when she jokes about their exhausted state. He's growing a spine! And not just for headbutting lazy assholes who slander out girl Anna

I wish she was as well-written as you make her out to be.
She was just doing random "funny" childish things for the most part of the manga. Her "manipulativeness" is akin to a child roping his/her friends into shenanigans, it's not out of some malicious intent, just pure thoughtlessness.

The mangaka just forgot to give her more personality by the time her "serious" arc started, that's why she feels so out of place.

It's all coming from the same place though? Like she's maturing at a slower rate than her friends and it's why she's thoughtless and also why she's struggling to parse her feelings for Tokio and also why she's so afraid of all the changes.

That might be fair, but this kind of slow start 200 chapters into the manga can be quite annoying for many people. Like, there should be a reasonable way to develop a character throughout the whole manga instead of just doing nothing with them for 200 chapters and then deciding that it's finally time. It feels like an afterthought rather than some organic development.

I do wish Chita wasn't written in this comic gag character style, especially in the first 2/3 of the manga. It's too difficult to take her arc seriously because she hasn't been given a personality that goes beyond, "Eats a lot, selfish comic relief, and confused/socially inept."

Chita could have been a really dope character that served as a contrast to the other two romance arcs by being a gyaru that was asexual/aromantic, but because she's done so much groping/made so many harem jokes, it won't land now.

Instead, this arc is uncompelling, not because she may or may not return Toshio's feelings, but because she hasn't earned it. She hasn't demonstrated actual complexity or compassion in the way that the story is being written to imply when other characters talk about her or with her.

In all honesty, the relationship between Chita and Toshio would have been far more interesting if neither of them had romantic feelings for each other, and they were instead grappling with how they want to be together forever in a non-romantic way that their society doesn't validate between opposite genders. With Chita clearly being the only one to feel that way, it's just a really awkward, boring read with Toshio being dealt undue suffering.
