I'll the one to jump to Chii's defense (a bit) to say that I think she's just scared and she doesn't want to disrupt the status quo. But yeah, like AkodoRyu says, shes like 100 chapters behind

I think it’s pretty clear that she’s a lesbian, but doesn’t realize it yet. She even jokes about Yuri. I feel sorry for Tomiko at this point, she clearly is uncomfortable with how much he likes her. I just wish they’d have her come out of the closet already.

I don’t think that’s it. I think it’s more like she has an inferiority complex. She eats in abundance because she thinks it’ll speed up her growth. This mindset was already established when she was looking at the porn magazine and compared herself to the girls on them. How could she not feel that way though, look at the company she keeps. It’s easy to feel insecure when your two best friends ooze sexuality. I think eventually this is gonna culminate into her revealing she never saw Tokio in a romantic way because she couldn’t believe a guy like him could love a girl like her.

Her story isn’t one about surpressed sexual preference, it’s about insecurities and acceptance.

Regardless of whether Chii is a lesbian or not, interesting to see this being done with her.

Playing up her wanting to share time with her friends and not being able to do it like before, and in turn, starting to become fond of Tokio for accompanying her to eat out so often now. The character can be annoying, she's implied to be comic relief but also pushy beyond compare, and as other people say she feels very underdeveloped (and rightly so, when she's barely had any focus on herself), though she at least has been stated to be simple: she likes to eat, she loves enjoying time with her friends, and she barely cares about anything else.

At least seeing that Tokio is actually doing chip damage to her is SOME kind of progress.

Good to see that Chii's getting development on her end, since she's the one of the three girls that's gotten the least amount of attention. I assume she's just a late bloomer and just doesn't understand the concept of romance (+ as others have said, she wants to keep a status quo, which is understandable. Change is scary). My yuri goggles are always on, but I just thought she's joking about it 😂

I personally would be fine if the relationship with her and Tokio doesn't work out because that's just how it is sometimes, but it seems like they're building up to it

Peeps, it doesn't have to be lesbian, or bi, or as, or whatevs. She just matures at her own pace, and that's fine. It's also fine if it's any of those things, but don't take her playing around affectionately as confirmation.
