This started serialization a month before the Nagatoro serialization. Nagatoro did exist before that, but it was completely different. That Nagatoro was like softcore masochist porn, as opposed to the fluffiness it is currently. In any case, it's a trend rather than a clone of any specific manga.

Honestly, it's not that the girl's personality is too much, it's the fact the guy is always a creepy loner type character with no spine. It just feels bad reading it when the girl just straight up dominates him. Since this isn't a softcore ecchi porno story. It would honestly be funnier and cuter if he was doing similar things to her as well. But, I guess people are into this stuff now.
