@mommy You can do things that others consider "bad" while having "good" intentions. That's basically how any subversive/radical/revolutionary/terrorist group works, they think they are doing something for the better despite their actions (whether they are actually good or not is subjective to the specifics). If our guesses are correct that Gomllas is part of the Liberation then Zero could be picking up on his honest intentions to making things "right" in his mind. Antagonists/villains don't always have to be evil, just counter to the "heroes".

All in all I think that you are right but whenever I say good or bad I define my own moral compass but mainly on societies moral compass judging not only the means but also tools employed. On a side note, didn't it seem like the spirits didn't like those spirit liberation guys?
I usually prefer manga and anime that don't show the world as black and white but employ many shades of grey for the MC and the villain of the story. However, I still don't like the captain but as of now we obviously don't even know if he is a traitor or not nor do we know any of his background at all.
