Poor Sophia someone save her from her Terrible family, I hope she's not made into a pawn for the emporer either. Just execute her family and give her everything
So like I’m still waiting for the excuse to make the fl and ml relationship okay. I’ve yet to see one... any novel readers with an excuse? Please... it seems genuinely good ignoring that factor but like there’s only so much my poor poor soul can ignore in life.
@Mongri I was thinking the same thing, the story is great save that one gigantic glaring issue. Like why couldn't it be what season she was born, or some special celestial thing had to be happening at her birth...
@Mongri@PaperSun Yes, there is a special, necessary reason for the age gap relationship.
Hope my explanation helps.
Remember how there are 2 main deities of their world, love goddess Kleitos and dragon god Rave? Goddess Kleitos is a psycho yandere who lusts for whoever is the current Dragon Emperor (which is Hades). She won't hesitate to kill all who stand in her way, and even wants to alienate Hades by destroying all those he cherishes around him so she can have him all to herself. (How else do you think Hades' half-siblings crowned emperor died under mysterious circumstances?) To Kleitos, all is fair and allowed in the name of love, and has tormented Hades for a long time.
Therefore Hades wants to banish Kleitos and find peace. There are 2 weak spots Kleitos has - she can only possess females aged 14 and above, since she herself ascended at age 14. In addition, a female blessed as a dragon bride by Rave with immense magic power can have a chance at blunting Kleitos' advances. So that's why Hades needed an under-14 girl with enough magic power, to give him a chance to hopefully remove this divine yandere lusting after him once and for all.

i mean for real mr beil is just an idiot
his face screams int:1 and his actions support that
yay lets stick our neck out so that when he needs to vent the emperor can just chop it off
playing games with others has a pretty strict prerequisite they either have to agree to play or are not aware that a game is being played with them
hades is a aware that beil plays games but doesn't realy want to play with him so its just a matter of time till he overthrows the gaming board and starts executing beil
I just found this and I really like it! It's light hearted and goofy at times, but the way the artist ties in the time travel instead of mentioning it once and tossing it aside is a nice contrast. I'm also really curious about how Hades can see her former shadow next to her current self.
Interesting - the novel translation was pretty consistent in referring to Camilla in feminine terms, and definitely hinted at the trans aspect, but was never quite clear about it. It's nice to see a second translation that's making it a bit clearer.
Now I'm wondering what Kleitos would think of Camilla . . . I'm guessing she's probably not going to be very trans-friendly . . .
Also, this story has some significant emotional heft, which is part of what really lifts it above . . . certain . . . um, unsavoury aspects . . . Stick with it, people who like the characters and the story but are a bit put off by those aspects - it's actually got some decent background behind it, and it /is/ important to remember that Jill is a 17-year old war veteran reincarnated as her 10 year old self, and Hades is a ridiculously emotionally immature young man with good reasons for avoiding any woman over the age of 13 . . .
