It's interesting that both Shinra and Mom are relying on interested men to provide housing/stability. Shinra because she's a teenager, and Mom because she's an incapable adult. But despite her mom's risky and neglectful behavior, she and Shinra have that in common.

We don't know much about the Mom and why she is the way she is. Possibly she never had to learn to be responsible and it's too late. Maybe she has some unrevealed trauma or mental illness. But I guess that it's just economics- they're people who have been squeezed out of a chance at prosperity.

i dont actually prefer any of the three ships over the others, but if the way it all settles down in the end is that Kanan is the brother-type, Rai is the boyfriend, and Hyakkei is the best friend i would be quite okay with that. i feel like in that arrangement, everyone can stay together, but if anyone but Rai ends up being her boyfriend i get the feeling the group would drift apart
