Why do they keep old eggs in cold storage and why are eggs only a local commodity from one region. Chickens are one of the easiest livestock to maintain and they make eggs year round. There is no way that based on supply and demand that eggs are a hard to come by commodity. Even in modern times farm fresh eggs are easy to come by. Let alone when 50% of your population are farmers

For those confused, the contest is to select a merchant who is knowledgeable about egg cuisine so that merchant can buy the eggs from the farm, then flip em to other customers in a way that is safe and satisfactory. It's not a method to bring customers to the village, but to get the eggs that will eventually spoil out with the merchants for selling safely.

The village selling their eggs from cold storage means the merchants need to transport them in cold storage and all the end customers would also need cold storage.

Just store them on a shelf at room temperature like a normal person and don't try being fancy for the sake of vanity, seriously.

Is japan also washing their eggs similar to americans? This destroys the protective coating which avoids bacterial penetration. In Europa usually no seller stores them refrigerated.

This manga really took an dive in terms of quality after the first two volumes. I liked it when she was a recluse and tried everything to not stand out. Now she doesn't seem to care anymore even though she says she does. It was unique when she tried to be self sufficient, but now it's like any other isekai with a protagonist with cheat skills. Yeah a bummer but for me it'd time to drop this.
