does anyone else get annoyed by food stuff like this? do the japanese really think people during the renaissance were eating barely altered slop? i think the dumpling is probably one the single simplest and earliest foods we even figured out made of flour as a species. these people are braising meat in wine and rosewater, they have smoked sausages, the have CONSOMMÉ AND DRESSED SIDE SALADS, they have super long process artisan shit like bonito and miso somehow. do you really think the flour dumpling, a food you can find a version of in every culture on earth, has escaped them?

Why are they encouraging patents? Intellectual property law stifles innovation.

And why does she keep making thin soups that just look like a bowl of water? That shit isn't ever going to be filling. At least she didn't put chicken in it this time.

Patent-making do be crazy with the tech shown in this... She can probably become the richest person given how many things in the modern world she could think of.

New specialty tools or very unique methods to making foods = patentable. The food itself though is typically not, but that's what "Trade Secrets" are for.

Not all patenting is bad, but some definitely is.

Examples:
Nintendo/The pokemon company patented throwing a ball or object at a monster in order to capture it in a 3D field and use it to fight later. They patented this only after PocketPair was nearing completion of Palworld. That's one of their reasons for suing them... But it's pretty damn obvious with the dates that they are just being a satchel of richards. They can't actually go after them for appearance of pals because the appearances aren't patented or copyrighted. Nintendo also patented their multi directional pad (+ button) as of 2005 it no longer is.

Loading screen mini games.
The Nemesis System.
Map Pinging.
A freaking waypoint arrow for navigating objectives.
Dual-Reality.
Sanity.
And more...

There is a foam blaster community creator who designed an absolute gem of a P90 blaster. But because he used a part similar to another creator that designed the Bulwark (it's clearly different because it's a customized part as the original design wouldn't have worked) he can't monetize it or even make them for free because Jackrabbit is a JackDonkey.
