This illustration was released in place of chapter 17.5
Webcomic is on hiatus so that the author can work on volume 2.

Unsure if this hiatus will be for a short while or until volume 2 is released.
Volume 2 will be released on August 9th.

Also unsure if, after the hiatus, 17.5 will be skipped and we'll get 18 instead, or the author will work on 17.5 next.

Mangaka tend to work too hard and get sick or seriously ill. I wish mangaka would take more breaks. They live half-lives. Stories of them dying in their 30s and 40s are far, far far too common. Major reason I want workers and their friends to seize political power from capitalist society.
Ah yes capitalist society that allows them to do this work and make a living in the first place.

seeing how authors usually get samples of their books from printers like 2 - 3 weeks before the official release, i'd assume that he'll be finished soon. mid-july at the very latest if he wants to make the deadline for the release. that said, obon is coming up so maybe he'll take a week off during that time.

It's not capitalism that's the problem. It's the stigma in the Japanese work environment as a whole that you have to be the first one in and the last one out.

At the expense of health and time without any other optional system in sight. Problem is how time becomes monopolised as a feature of system. The wealth it creates is trickled down when it's created from the bottom. Don't act dumb over the main issue of the argument by manstrawing or deviating the point. Baka!

That is a problem with the work culture not the system in of itself. It's even thanks to this system people are able to make money through art. Name another economic structure that allows people to draw and make a living out of it. Hell you even have people who are self-published and can make enough to support themselves. Dumbass.

Manga is a competitive business. Like it or not mangaka's work hard because they have to. If you can't get your name out there and make your presence known why would anyone care about you and honestly that is fine. Do they work themselves to death? Yes they do because if they didn't they wouldn't be able to get their stories out and make money. You have to understand art is a business and if you want to popular you have to put your everything on the line to succeed. Many don't and that is the nature of competition. I cannot stand retards that don't understand that to make it you have to work, and work, and work to develop a skillset that's worth a damn or understand a market and work towards succeeding in it.

The original commentator didn't provide any solution and did the usual socialist retardation ''workers seize power'' as if that will solve anything.

Just because something "is" doesn't mean it should be. Progress can be made, things can change. American industrialization was great capitalism, really competitive. It also had child labour.

Are we long suffering today because we didn't put Timmy on the factory floor 13?
Just because you're in a capitalistic world doesn't mean I need to lose my hand at age 12 and then get sent home for a pittance after a 12 hour work day
And before we nitpick at the example, it's just an example to show modulation

Not saying no one understands effort & struggle, theres even mangas and animation about that, but if these guys are wasting away, ya probably could do better. Even if you do grind. You shouldn't have to be on the grind forever

I am fully aware that this comment will change nothing on your opinion, as we all know vindicated people on the internet never change their opinions.

So im just really saying this for my own self-satisfaction, I just feel it's ridiculous to ignore any portent of improvement because "that's the way things are! It's tradition!"
