There was a female vampire sent by Ternecia, to kill Eleanora and Van, during the raid on Talosheim, she's a zombie vampire now. So Van does have a line women can cross that will get them killed too.

There are few things that make my eyes glaze over like stories trying to food porn their way along. Hands down the worst parts of stories like Death March or Kuma Kuma Kuma. Bard Loen only gets a pass, because you can tell the mangaka really puts the effort in (crazy good art and pacing), even if the eating parts suck.

Spice back in the dark ages were a luxury item peasants couldn't afford. Being fat was a status symbol because it showed you could afford to over eat. Salt at one point in history was so valuable that it was used as currency. Sweet too were something only the wealth could afford. I'm sure you've read 1 or 2 isekai manga where the MC complains about the food being bland, that's because the food is not seasoned at all for the previously mentioned reasons.

Technically he didn't directly kill her, Eleanora did. Also, it's pretty well established now that death in the traditional sense is meaningless for named characters unless their soul is broken.

Female characters get rarely killed in this series. There is Isla, now a zombie vampire, but I think she got killed by Eleonora (during the attack on Talosheim). When he met Heinz again for the first time in the Kingdom, he also killed an old (evil) fruit vendor woman (albeit unintentionally), but I'm not sure if that was depicted in the manga adaption.
