Are the size of the heads in this chapter weirding anyone else out?
Bro not just the head sizes, but the her face is weirding me out too. In previous panels she looks 10, and in others, like this one, she looks like she's got the face of a 30yr old attached to the body of a 10yr old.

It's almost as if the publisher got normie baited by the loli and said something to the author/artist to age her up and he was like "lol ok bet" and so we got this abomination out of spite or some shit.

Word must have gotten around that 10 gold was being brought out of the city. In hindsight, it would have been easy to blame a thief for "losing" the gold. Imagine thinking you scored a devious lick, but turns out to be fake gold. You know that guy was doing something illegal by possessing said fake gold, but snitching on him means snitching on yourself too.

From the looks and sound of it my guess is the douche that stole it from our MC a few chapters back to begin with tried to use it, got found out and then tried to blame it on the MC by claiming "he tried to rent property with it" and the Fake Gold came into his possession that way. The Thief's father was owning property after all.
As one side was a "upstanding rookie adventurer and son of a landowner" and the other was some "Some Scoutthief dude who probably steals as a hobby because that's what those scumbags do" they quickly believed him.

I could be reading this wrong, but this seems like an attempt to frame him by any means. He was thinking about the fact that they might plant fake gold in his house, and at the same time, it seems like they were relying on his profession's bad reputation to make sure no one would bother to check. He's a "thief", so he'd surely do something scummy like that. Unfortunately for them, this guy is a good man with a good reputation, and he has allies.
Yeah. I‘m basically imagining him as an African American accused of having illegal drugs by racist policemen. Instead of racism, it’s discriminations against scouts, though.

That’s what I figured too.

And the irony is that he totally fucked himself by lying. Yeah stealing is a crime but apparently owning counterfeit coins is just as bad, if not worse. And nobody’s gonna believe this dude if he suddenly changed his story and says he stole them (plus, how do you steal from a thief). So he’s going down for the counterfeit coins and since he can’t name his source (because nobody will believe him), he’s probably gonna get the harshest possible sentence. I’m thinking life in prison.

Honestly he is in trouble no matter what. The Guildmaster probably has enough ways to "know" it was Soi/Zoe(Depending on Translation) who is the "Witness". And she can vouch for our MC's Character and also denounce their "witness" by stating the reasons he would have a grudge against the MC (Since his actions before where reported to the guild). She is a pretty damn big shot so her words are worth her weight in gold. The Knights won't be happy about getting tricked... at all.

This smells like complete shit to me. He was tasked (secretly if I may add) to transport the gold coins. The only ones who knew were him and the guild members. And he was "conveniently" was deprived of said coins ONLY when stunned and robbed. This has to be a guild member trying to set this guy up, probably over some petty grudge.

Of note the job was never mentioned. Some guy(probably the one we think of) "claimed" the MC put down 10 fake gold to buy a House. That and the confession from another guy who overheard them pretty much confirms who stole it (another adventurer with a grudge from earlier) and the guy either noticed the gold is fake or was caught trying to pay stuff with it and tried to blame the MC. Honestly the accusation was flimsy from the get go and the knights only acted due to the bad rep the Scout class has. They already started to reconsider with rather barebones counter arguments before the Guild master walked in.

yep, stopped reading page 2 to come and see if someone else got weirded out like I did, haha.
Come now, you know how this goes. It'd be a subversion if it doesn't end weird..

What a shitty setup. I get there may be some shifty rogues out there, but it's an extremely important profession. They also seem pretty weak in this world, MC barely not being that. It's painful when they don't live up to their potential because of story reasons.

That's pretty much how it goes, and the charges seem to get dropped.

Funny thing though, is that when he's out of the house afterward the consul/leader guy orders a knight to sneak into his house and plant the coins there, but gets stuck in a trap that Harris has set up.

Granny guildmaster finds said knight, puts them in the guild jail, and gets them to confess the scheme.
