I liked what the mangaka was trying to pull off. Switching from light hearted to serious and such, but it was poorly executed. It just made no sense to repeatedly lower their guard around such an unstable monster like the teacher. It's like being surprised that a lion finally decided to eat you.

Yeah, that's my biggest problem with Yotsuya's "death." This has tried to kill them multiple times, and he's been pretty open about wanting to kill Yotsuya for the sake of his lover, and these people still trust. They still let them borrow Yotsuya's body. It's just dumb and it ends up feeling anti-climactic. Not to mention, how they are still fine with him being around. He literally just killed Yotsuya.
