I'm more so referring to the original author. I understand the mangaka is just making an adaption. But, as I'm led to believe, the novel is like this as well where it's out of chronological order and full of exposition.

Novel been long going, and still going, the LN got its 19th volume a few days ago and is pretty far ahead of what the WN have, but yes translation stopped

Manga pretty much going 1:1 with LN chapters so far, since it finished Vol.1 chapter 4 here, and raws started chapter 5, so it gonna be a long adaptation, hopefully

Yeah at this point I don't think any other character can dethrone Lil as my favorite character

She is very clearly best girl. Not even characters that appear later can compare.

Reading this made me look up if the LN has been translated, sadly not (yet). Loved the WN, this manga seems to adapt it pretty straightforwardly, the original also had one chapter be from the MC's perspective, and how he interacts with one of the mercenary members, and the next chapter being from said member's perspective, and what they do with the knowledge.

At least the first few chapters, afterwards it does delve into a proper plot from what I recall. It has been years however, so can't recall 100%

I think my brain's going to fry switching to skim mode every time is see the copy pasta with thick MC compliment sauce.

I was really hoping for a swifter emphasis on plot in the manga adaptation versus the original's gargantuan word count.

AFAIK, irl grenades don't detect they're too close to whoever threw them. So there's no reasons for this to be added due to the MC's "feedback", unless to make him looks "smart". Except it doesn't, it just makes Lil looks stupid by implying she needs someone else to tell her basic stuff, eg don't make a bomb that explodes in your pocket or hand.
