mm, does the epilogue/brief flashforward to him in his old days still eating fried horse mackerel imply that MC stayed long enough with them too versus being able to go back since he didn't belong in this world(tho it'd be very rare for that to happen versus the ones who are able to go back and forth to begin with lol)

I don't think the mc will ever be able to go back to his world. In chapter 4.4, we learned about his best friend. At the end of the chapter, it was said that his friend, 2 years later, never got to meet him again.

Now imagine if they put each .number chapter into one entire chapter, It would be like 40-60 pages each chapter. Makes me wonder how long volume 2 is gonna be since it would only have 3 chapters. So that's like... 182 pages holy

At first I was a bit frustrated by this format, but I wonder if there was a limit to the chapters from the beginning, so they're just going to go through all of the main characters in the mercenary corps, their backstories and their epilogues, and then it'll end. With all the flash forwards, I don't know if there can really be a satisfying way to continue with the present day beyond a few more skirmishes or interactions to tie into character development, because we already know how everything will end up.

Man in trying to hang on, but this story is jumping around way to much to maintain any narrative flow.

At first I thought the chapter being split up was making it worse, but reading a whole chapter at one makes things even more jarring.

The scanlation quality is high tho.

It doesn't matter how good you are at swordsmanship at the end of the day a sword can't cut through plate armor. All that would happen is that the blade would become very chipped and possibly break. Warfare constantly evolves which is why when plate mail became the standard the mace started becoming the preferred weapon because that would allow you to break through the armor which then caused people to create armor that soften and the flex the blows of a maze which then led to different weapons and back and forth and back and forth.
