Machine translation with not even a single once over by even the typesetter to see if the pronouns they were putting in the speech bubbles were correct

Perhaps, given that Tanya is something of a conscious Mary Sue in this story.
Tanya sure, but if the 203 snaps in the capital how much of the army would have to be mobilized to even hold them back?
There are some amazing individuals like the Toubadore but the story has made clear that her mages are just leagues ahead of anything else the empire could offer.

Well, at least she personally trained and led them all into battle. So they are something like a personal elite guard, hehe. I haven't read LN, maybe in the future Tanya will become some kind of general and create an entire army?

Between the awful machine translation and the content of the chapter, it feels like a bad dream. I hope in next chapter it turns out to be exactly that, and then we're back on the frontline fighting the Federation.

I feel like on page 27 "I" should be replaced with "you" as it makes more sense that way. Since Rerugen is talking to Tanya it should be that she might have to let go of the battalion she's built, right? I haven't looked at the raws but I don't think it makes any sense for Rerugen to use I there.

The issue is that the 203 is too elite. Like what? It was stated that the Empire is ahead by 2-3 steps while Tanya made her 203 Battalion ahead by like 5? So it leads to some serious bias where nothing else can compete with them nor survive e.g. the Troubador getting axed.. so unfortunately the Empire has to over rely on them to do everything.

Back in the Southern Campaign, Lightsaber aka Debrah was out of commission (injured) now imagine if Viano managed to kill her... it would definitely be worse if not more so compared to the Troubador being killed. It would fuck up logistics and strategy operations guess that's why Romel had to give up chasing De Lugo again as well as sending the other high level officers back to the Capital.

Overall HQ and Service Surveillance departments in the Captial know that 203 is a tight knit group that causes them to be used almost always and no one else plus Tanya probably at somepoint, noticed the leapfrog ops that she was getting and without rest.

Prior to some new members in the 203, it was just Tanya. Originally what? There was no inside or outside competition from other countries... Dacia didn't even have a Aerial Mage unit nor a proper army, Ente was basically wipe as a nation -- defenses, aerial mages and army gone in one fell swoop Lel, Francois 3 Musket Teers = dead, Anson Sue = dead, Viano lost twice now rofl (guy just needs to give up) and the Albion's Round Table all dead minus 2 Drakes... 🤣🤣🤣 it's laughable how the Major Powers still don't get it. Mary Sue isn't exactly stable, I predict her divine intervention is gunna back fire.

Listening to the feedback on LN, I sometimes feel like Zen intentionally made Tanya and her battalion too OP to use them as a tool to properly develop the story and build the messages he wants to convey. I mean, something like the Shiba siblings from Mahouka, where the author deliberately made the main characters a metaphor for nuclear weapons to more directly show how nations abuse the military and talented scientists as tools in the arms race.

Yeah I full agree with you there perhaps too good to be true. But like I said who else can win against the 203 and not get solo no diff'd like Anson Sue or lose back to back like the Drakes/Viano?

And yeah the LN, I get that the Major Powers didn't try to properly do some form of investigation into course correcting for a peace treaty in full... or realize that this mess started becauae Dacia waltz over the Empire borders illegally plus Entente not declaring war status as one should during times of war.

Still it does make me curious where the Spy has been, we haven't seen Elya since Operation Shock and Awe/Revolving Door, do you think there is a sub chapter of a potential Sniper Elite style Elya arc? 😄

I don't know what the story potential of LN is, but if I were Zen, I would create a series of spin-offs that developed certain subplots through other cool mages. Russian, American, Japanese...maybe Italian or Chinese? Lots of room for political commentary and cultural geography, if you know what I mean, lmao. Speaking of Sniper Elite, I've only played the first three (considering that the first two are different versions of the same game), but they say the fifth or so is out?

Yeah the lastest one is in Italy now it's wild the dev team still want to keep this to WW2 no Gulf War no WW1 not even Nam or Operation Restore Hope. Outside of Sniper Elite, the only option is Sniper Ghost Warrior which is atm the first game isn't even on Steam anymore 😕 the 2nd and 3rd are as well as Contracts 1 and 2.

I see. Although the original game received some criticism in Russia at the time (mostly some levels in the middle of the game where you can kill soviet soldiers in an attempt to get to secret german documents), I enjoyed playing and exploring it. I played a ton of hours on my XBox 360 back in the day even in the demo alone.

I'll try to see if I can get a copy at the very least Gog is still doing that game preservation list where you can vote for a game to be put on their storefront that's either got dated game play mechanics, too old to run because or certain specific system requirements (e.g. penium processors etc.) Or just not optimized for PC -- it's a long list but I still imo is a great thing as it relists abandon games which don't have modern hardware support with it now or alternatively abandoned IP and even games that are well nostalgic 🤷‍♀️.

This is a useful thing when at least 2-3 of your favorite childhood games are practically unavailable online due to various reasons. I loved NOLF in school because of the many ways to complete missions (just think of a handbag that turns into a rocket launcher or a perfume that destroys corpses), but now the game is not available in any stores due to a conflict between publishers.
