Yeah I just looked at novelupdates and it says that the webnovel is in an indefinite hiatus and the light novel is discontinued because of that. It sucks. Hopefully the author locks and continues this work in the forseeable future.

In case you’re wondering, the LN has been stalled at 2 volumes since 2019. The webnovel too, although that arguably has a worse ending because the last chapter has Lourie’s horns break off as a cliffhanger.

The LN technically got discontinued because the Kodansha publishing label "Legend Novels" got folded years ago in 2021, author never went back to write the WN either (and this is basically the only work from this author ever as mentioned), this was the same label as Her Majesty's Swarm LN, which didn't get to finish as a LN either with only 1 Volume away from completion (at least this one ended as a WN first, the label published Vol.4 digital only as one of its last, due to west popularity, before it got shut down the same year)

But yeah manga originally at 24 stopped around where the WN and LN did, so these 3 manga chapters are more to give it an ending somewhat that the novel never managed to do

I'm happy with that. It feels much more solid than what we initially had. Can't say I'm not disappointed that it got axed of course, but I'm glad it got a proper goodbye.
