Have you followed any of the links to Amazon, EBJ, CDJapan, etc and bought any copies of your favourite manga?
I never clicked through this site. If I want to buy, I usually go directly to the relevant page (for example, just write YesAsia, Amazon, or Bookwalker). Done.
Because I really like Japanese products ---
veeery capitalist even though hurts my wallet. The answer : I do it, sometimes. But I'm still in college, so I will wait for a steady income when I work later. There are so many titles that I want to buy and it never discourages me even though it is blocked by the emotional pressure of rising taxes and the narrowing of my closet to make other room. I like physical copy, and that won't change for the next few years. I will buy the original if it has a small chance of being published here. Yes, do not expect that many people will have the same tastes as you and that sometimes does not guarantee it will sell well in the market even with a price benchmark that is increasingly shrinking to be purchased.
And if you are willing to share, how much have you spent?
I spend money that is quite abnormal in my economic situation, which I usually get from pocket money. Still around 1000+ yen. I buy diligently in one or several months. Not much. But I always wonder: I want to try loyal like Japanese fans who can buy 1 volume as much as 3 pieces with each goal: read, display, collect. But to do it I must have great guts! Just imagine that someone is willing to spend a lot of money just to collect different illustrations (only applies as bonuses on animate).
What do you actually do with your copies, if you can't read it?
I can read it enough.
Would a list of upcoming releases for new volumes interest you if we had it on the site?
Sure, why not? Every few weeks I routinely go to the sites of each publisher.
If it is planned, the display of new releases can also be seen from the aspect of many publishers to the general reader - and, God knows, people might be interested in moving on their own. But I'm not encouraging this to appear on the main page. Create a new bar with filters as usual for easy access (try to see the Square Enix site, the navigation is very good compared to others).
