I will say this again. If the Emperor/Prince (scumbag) becomes the key love interest in this, I'm soooooo dropping this. I like the route it's taking now, but if it gives us a huge 180 for her to "love" the man that not only killed her, but probably had something to do with her families death. It'll be insane. Not a spoiler, just didn't want my paragraph taking up to much room 
No-one in their right mind would willingly fall for someone that killed their entire family. I mean, unless their also a psychopath. Some stories can make it work, like "Doctor Elise" as in her first life SHE was the cause of her own death. She changed how she was in her "2nd life" and it changed the story for the better. So, it worked in that sense. However, for this.... Hell no. If it forces us to watch as he "grows an interest" and then that starts the romance route with that nutjob, it'll definitely ruin this.

Considering how many pages has been spent portraying the emperor as an evil sob, it would be very very disappointing (and sadly typical) if we get the usual generic muh misunderstanding that somehow excuse his douchebagerry. I really really hope the female lead won't be the typical worthless doormat starved for love/attention that would instantly forgive and fell in love with the asshole that kill her """"beloved"""" family the moment he started treating her nicely 🙄

@luminary yeah, I agree with that. I need a spoiler if the main lead is the prince or not, if it is I'll drop this pronto. No matter what the excuse the author cooked up, I feel it's distasteful if she actually fell for him. Though by the title it seems that's the way the author wanted this to be going... so I don't have much hope actually... Wait I just realized the cover depicts them together as if it's the intended pair and the synopsis hinted "the monster changed"... welp, I'm out. It's a shame the artwork is good though.

@Kuraiaku, yes the prince is the ml, but the reasoning is actually very sound as to why he did what he did.
I don't want to say too much as it'll basically reveal the whole plot, but he is very much redeemable.
Also, please keep in mind that they did not know each other and had no prior contact before her death, making them virtually strangers, so they can very much start anew. And please remember that she asked to be killed after her family died.

As a little spoiler, her family isn't as innocent as they portray themselves to be and what they'll do will hurt the fl more than anything the prince did in the beginning.

And his reasoning to bring her in for judge and jury, brought to "justice" for being slightly less thrifty than her scrooge of a husband? We did see him call for execution.
And no one with their right mind would say "Yes, this clearly extremely grieving and traumatised woman is asking to be killed. It makes perfect sense to execute her while she is overcome with grief and trauma!"
I at best can see manipulation of the author to make people gradually warm up to the man by using time to make people forget his behavior.
But like with other ML that do horrible shite which are then just scratched off, I ain't forgiving them because the author is good at retrospectively making people start to like them.
Like the Duke that has mind controlled hundreds of servants and that is just brushed off because "they didn't like to follow his orders" bitch please, fire them, don't brain fuck them using powers that have been *shown* to have detrimental effects on their mind.
In fact, I would like to see it being pulled straight even if the ML may have some redeemable qualities. Hell go for making him bit more likeable, it will make his end bittersweet rather than pure revenge porn, which is a nice twist.

So, are there any stories where the emperor murders MC's family and the MC does NOT fall in love with the psychopath? And preferably gets revenge on him?
@WeepingFlower so because he's having oh so sob traumatic background story I have to feel sorry for him to be a tyranical king? Nope, not buying that. I don't want to read stupid ass MC tried to rehabilitate edgy male lead as if to earn his love. Actually, that made me feel I lost respect to the MC too. Ok, I'm dropping it. Sorry it took your time to kindly explain it but I decided to drop and forget this series for my own and other people who might like this so they don't need to see me ranting about it in further chapters.
